Welcome to Jaipur! After arrival, a representative will be waiting for you at the airport to transfer you to the hotel. After a brief rest, our journey into the “Pink City” begins with a tour of Jaipur’s most distinctive landmark – the Hawa Mahal-a pink honeycombed five-story building erected by the royal family. A little further on is the City Palace, an impressive complex consisting of elegant structures dating back to the 19th century. At night we will visit Jantar Mantar, India’s remarkable observatory, before wandering over to the Birla Temple – here, you will be enamored by the contrast of the bright yellow lights against the dusky night sky.

After breakfast, we will proceed to Bikaner, a vibrant dust-swirling town northwest of Jaipur. Enjoy the scenic views of the Great Thar Desert as we make our way past rolling sand dunes and yes, even camels!

After check-in at the hotel, we will step back out into the old city, which is actually encircled by a 7-km long 18th-century wall. The narrow streets of the old city house a number of “havelis” and intricately carved temples, which date back as old as the 15th century. The Junagarh Fort, complete with moat and 37 bastions, is sure to impress – though it’s the inside that is truly the most spectacular!

We will have an early breakfast at the hotel this morning, and make our way to the Sam Sand Dunes for hotel check-in. After, a Jeep safari will be there to take you on a desert tour, whizzing our way in between huge, silky folds of golden sand. Be on the lookout for camels, and at sunset, bring out your camera for a chance to capture the magnificent yellows, pinks, and oranges of the mystical sunset of the Great Thar Desert.

At night, we will head back to the hotel for a traditional Rajasthani dance show, complete with vibrant costumes and flashy choreography, followed by a delicious gala dinner.

Rise and shine – this morning’s camel safari is sure to be bumpy, but we never said it wasn’t worth it!

Afterward, we will stop by the hotel for breakfast and a brief rest before heading to Jaisalmer, and the true treasure of the city – Jaisalmer Fort, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2013. And it’s hard not to see why…this massive desert citadel was built in the 12th century and evokes mysteries of a bygone era. Hidden behind the thick bastions of these walls are plentiful palaces, Hindu temples, bustling bazaars, and over 500 families, making it one of the world’s rarest living forts.

At night, visit Salim Singh Haveli, an 18th-century building noted by its unique beauty – but the inside is the truly spectacular sight!

After breakfast, we will journey on to Jodhpur, just a quick drive away from Jaisalmer. After hotel check-in, we will visit Umaid Bhawan, one of the world’s largest private residences, with 374 rooms set amongst 26 acres of lush gardens. In the afternoon you will journey to Mehrangarh Fort, the majestic fort that towers over Jodhpur, for a breathtaking view of the glittering city beneath. Then, at dusk, Jaswant Thada awaits –the intricately carved marble sheets of this mausoleum emit a beautiful warm glow when illuminated by the sun!

After this morning’s breakfast, we will make the journey to Udaipur. A magical city set amongst hills and dotted with marble palaces, this breathtaking city isn’t called the “Venice of the East” for no reason.

This city sits on the banks of the spectacular Lake Pichola, in the midst of which lies Jagniwas Island. Here is the real treasure – Lake Palace Hotel, a stunning white palace-cum-hotel, which formerly served as the Maharaja’s royal summer palace. And it is nothing short of breathtaking…if you choose to visit the hotel, be sure to glance up at the banks across the water at the towering City Palace. It really is quite the view!

This morning we will have breakfast at the hotel, followed by a full day tour of the city by our knowledgeable staff.

Our day begins on the banks of Lake Pichola at City Palace, a large hilltop complex where the Maharaja and his family reside, and then continues on to Bagore Ki Haveli, an 18th-century haveli museum with many cultural displays, including the world’s biggest turban! From there we will travel north to Fateh Sagar, a beautiful manmade lake surrounded on three sides by the Aravalli Hills. At night, catch a show at one of Udaipur’s many performing arts centers – follow it with street food and a dosage of Indian sweets for the full experience!

This morning, enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel, before making your way up to Mount Abu. The only hill station in Rajasthan, this tiny town abounds with various animals – including bears, monkeys, and wild boar – and provides a welcome retreat from the desert heat.

Once you reach Mount Abu, there are infinite amounts of things to see and do – from roads lined with treasured gems to brilliant marble Jain Dilwara temples – and for the adventurers, a walk to the ancient ruins of Achalgarh will be sure to impress. At night, visit the highest point in the Aravalli mountain range at Guru Shikar – the view from the top is simply amazing!
